Petition: Elect the Lords

In 1911, Parliament committed itself to replacing the House of Lords with "a Second Chamber constituted on a popular instead of hereditary basis"[1].  100 years later, it is long past time this happened.

We therefore call on Her Majesty's Government to enact legislation for a wholly or mainly elected upper house, within the lifetime of this Parliament, using a system of proportional representation.
