Tackling Money and Corruption in Politics
14th June 2012 - 6.30pm
Secular Hall, Leicester
Unlock Democracy and Leicester for Democracy have teamed up to host an evening with
Liz Kendall MP,
Cllr Mathew Hulbert,
and Unlock Democracy's Peter Facey to talk about opening up lobbying.
Lobbying is a critical issue. After years of seeing scandals surrounding Westminster and lobbyists both the public and government agree that something needs to change. However the changes being proposed by the government are weak and we are awaiting a response to the public consultation.
The campaign to open up lobbying didn't end with the close of consultation. We want you to be a part of keeping the debate on the agenda. The revelations from the Leveson Inquiry show just why we need to put a stop to paying for policy.
Liz Kendall MP (Labour), Cllr Mathew Hulbert (Lib Dem) and Unlock Democracy's Director Peter Facey will be answering questions and listening to your views.
Join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion and an opportunity to learn more about lobbying.
